Geriatric Medicine

Geriatric medicine is the branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in older people and the problems specific to aging.

Hawaii is an aging state with the longest life expectancy in the nation. That is why Geriatric Medicine physicians, or Geriatricians, focus not only on the care of elderly people but also on the research of geriatric diseases – an important component of the State’s healthcare community. Geriatric Medicine physicians also aim their special knowledge and particular skills on prevention and wellness.
