Ever wonder what an internal medicine doctor does?
Dr. Elizabeth Tam, chair of medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), joined host Kanoe Gibson on set to talk about the broad range of primary care services this type of physician provides.
Internal Medicine Physicians specialize in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment specific to adult diseases. Doctors also practice general medicine and see people for routine check-ups or non-emergency medical care. You can think of them like adult pediatricians – caring and specializing in the care of men and women who could be anywhere from age 18 to 120.
We now have an academic affiliation with the Queen’s Health Systems and their new physician group – the Queen’s University Medical Group (QUMG).
Our Internal Medicine physicians are a part of this transition.
