on Monday, June 5, with the naming of three sleep rooms reserved for OB-GYN residents and physicians who need rest during long shifts, especially those working late nights and early mornings. The donation will be directed to support Women\u2019s Services at Kapi\u2018olani.<\/p><p>\u201cThis is a very meaningful donation for our medical center and the many OB-GYN physicians and residents who are committed to the care at Kapi\u2018olani,\u201d\u00a0said Martha Smith, CEO of Kapi\u2018olani Medical Center for Women &amp; Children.\u00a0\u201cWe are honored to be a teaching facility for UH JABSOM. Dr. Ivica Zalud, Professor and Chair of the Department of the UH Department of OB-GYN, emphasizes the great impact that Kapi\u2018olani has on the future caretakers of Hawai\u2018i.<\/p><p>&#8220;Our John A. Burns School of Medicine faculty are grateful and proud of Kapi\u2018olani Medical Center for Women &amp; Children,\u201d\u00a0said Dr.\u00a0Ivica Zalud,\u00a0Professor and Chair of the UH Department of OB-GYN. \u201cThis is where we and our residents feel at home. This is the place where we advance women\u2019s health and groom the next generations of physicians to care and advocate for women. This is the place where we push ourselves in pursuit of discovery. With this donation made through our faculty practice, University Health Partners, we hope to make overnight stay while on call at Kapi\u2018olani a bit easier for\u00a0faculty, residents and fellows.\u201d<\/p><p>The rooms will be acknowledged as part of the\u00a0John A. Burns School of Medicine\u00a0(JABSOM)\u00a0as\u00a0the JABSOM OB\/GYN Faculty Call Room, JABSOM OB\/GYN Resident Call Room and JABSOM Resident\/Fellow Call Room.
