October 18, 2016 — Last year was a milestone year for the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) as alumni, students, faculty, staff and the community came together to celebrate 50 years!

For the past 50 years, JABSOM and our students have been the beneficiaries of support from our faculty, staff and community partners. The more than $940,000 for student scholarships raised at the 50th Anniversary Gala is a perfect example of what we can achieve if we set goals and work together.

Our Starting from the Inside Out faculty-and-staff campaign is another way to show our support for JABSOM’s basic mission to teach and train high-quality physicians, biomedical scientists, and allied health workers for Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

Since we started our internal giving campaign (IGC) efforts in 2008, we have raised more than $2.2 million dollars for JABSOM. Last year alone, the campaign raised a record, $948,500 for more than 75 accounts. Participation has also been steadily rising and please remember this is what really matters. Mahalo to all of you who have supported our efforts, you have much to be proud of.
