University Health Partners of Hawaiʻi (UHP) is a nonprofit organization that powers the systems, partnerships, and infrastructure behind healthcare delivery across the state.
While many know UHP through its clinical roots, our role today extends far beyond being the faculty practice for the John A. Burns School of Medicine. We serve as a trusted operational and strategic partner to healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and community programs throughout Hawaiʻi.
Our foundation is rooted in academic medicine and clinical support. That legacy remains an important part of who we are. However, our role today is broader.
Rather than focusing primarily on delivering care, UHP supports the systems that make care possible. We work alongside healthcare providers, academic institutions, and community organizations to align goals, share resources, and create solutions that strengthen healthcare delivery across Hawaiʻi.
We partner with healthcare organizations, medical groups, and community-based programs to provide the structure, stability, and expertise needed to operate effectively in a complex healthcare environment.
From statewide programs like school-based health services to collaborations with major health systems, UHP plays a key role in connecting people, organizations, and ideas to move healthcare forward.

Evolving to Meet Hawaiʻi’s Needs
UHP maintains a strong and ongoing relationship with the University of Hawaiʻi and the John A. Burns School of Medicine; however, we also work with a wide range of partners, including healthcare systems, physician groups, academic institutions, and community-based programs across the state.
Our focus is not limited to a single organization or setting. Instead, we support healthcare delivery across the broader ecosystem, helping partners navigate operational complexity, regulatory requirements, and financial sustainability.
This statewide approach allows UHP to remain nimble, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of Hawaiʻi’s healthcare landscape.
