Every day, individuals like you entrust University Health Partners of Hawaii with their healthcare needs. But what sets us apart extends beyond our years of expertise, prestigious national rankings, and pioneering contributions to cancer prevention. It transcends our groundbreaking research and cutting-edge clinical care, which introduce novel therapies long before they’re widely available elsewhere.

At the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center, our commitment to combating cancer is embodied by our exceptional clinicians, whose expertise is matched only by their compassion. As our region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, we pride ourselves on a team that provides cutting-edge, empathetic patient care. Our clinicians are at the heart of our mission to reduce the burden of cancer through groundbreaking treatments and dedicated community outreach, serving the unique needs of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific while embracing the UH Cancer Center’s core values: Hoʻoulu, Laulima, Kuleana, Pono.

But what truly distinguishes us is our unwavering dedication to you. At University Health Partners of Hawaii and the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center, we prioritize your well-being above all else.

Clinical Research Center

With the support from our state Legislature and a grant from the National Institutes of Health, we’re excited to announce the construction of a new Clinical Research Center right here in Kaka‘ako at the UH Cancer Center. In collaboration with clinical members of the Hawaiʻi Cancer Consortium, this project is designed to bring novel, cutting-edge, early-phase clinical trials closer to home for cancer patients. These trials offer specialized treatments right here in Hawaiʻi, saving patients the time and expense of traveling to the mainland and being separated from their loved ones. For patients with cancers that are particularly challenging to treat or those who haven’t responded well to standard therapies, these trials represent a crucial opportunity to explore new options in their own community.

Clinical Trials

A clinical trial is a research study designed to test the safety and effectiveness of new treatments for cancer. Every cancer-fighting drug and therapy available to doctors today had to be tested in a clinical trial before it could be used routinely on patients. If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer, know that a clinical trial is an option to consider. The Center currently provides access to 85 cutting-edge cancer clinical trials and remains committed to investigating new ways of improving cancer care in Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

All trials are conducted by local oncologists.
