Hyperbaric Treatment Center

Celebrating 40+ Years of Healing

For more than four decades, the Hyperbaric Treatment and Wound Care Center (HTC)—Hawai‘i’s “dive chamber”—has been delivering life- and limb-saving hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) across the state, 30 of those years at our current home inside Kuakini Medical Center.

To celebrate this remarkable legacy of healing and innovation, we invite you to join us for a special anniversary event:

What to Expect

  • A celebratory community gathering
  • Light pupus
  • Guided tours of the hyperbaric chamber
  • Brief overview of hyperbaric medicine and its uses
  • Stories from the patients, providers & pioneers who’ve shaped HTC
  • Optional clinical information session immediately following the main event

Whether you’ve partnered with us in care, been part of our history, or are simply curious about the power of hyperbaric medicine—we’d love to see you there.

Location and Parking

There are two public parking buildings on the Kuakini campus:

Main Parking Building – the largest parking location for the public is the Parking Building, located behind the Kuakini Medical Plaza (KMP) at 321 North Kuakini Street. There are eight levels of parking for physicians, visitors and patients.

Kuakini Physicians Tower (KPT) – Located at 405 North Kuakini Street, the KPT parking is available within the Physicians Tower building. Please note: this lot is designated as overflow parking only.

Parking Registration

The automated/electronic systems at both parking lots are managed by Metropolis Parking, which utilizes special vision cameras and artificial intelligence technology to scan cars and license plates.

Visitors can use the Metropolis app/website to register their vehicle at any time, including prior to arriving at Kuakini. This registration only needs to be completed once per vehicle. After the initial registration, the license plate of your vehicle will be recognized by the Metropolis system each time it enters/exits a Kuakini parking building.

CLICK HERE to register your vehicle with the Metropolis Parking website to register your vehicle, if you have not done so already.

Parking validations, if applicable, can then be scanned with a mobile device at the respective department, service, or office, each time you visit. Electronic payments can also be made via mobile device if you enter your payment information (credit or debit card) into the Metropolis app/website.

Registered parking customers who use the Metropolis app/website for electronic payments can enter and exit the parking buildings without stopping for an attendant. Your card will be charged electronically and accordingly, based on your parking time and validation status.

Visitors who opt not to use the Metropolis app/website can pay with cash or credit/debit card at the “Customer Service” exit gate, which is the left lane as you exit the Main Parking Building. However, these visitors should inform the respective department, service, or office they are visiting that they are not using the scanned codes for parking.

Parking Validation

Parking validation rates may vary at each respective physician’s office within the Kuakini Medical Plaza and Kuakini Physicians Tower. Please inquire with your respective physician’s office for specific rates.

Parking validation rates may vary for people visiting patients at Kuakini Medical Center and/or residents at Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc. Please inquire with the respective nursing unit you are visiting for parking validation options.

Parking validation rates may vary for outpatients receiving services — such as Imaging, Chemotherapy, Radiation, and others — at Kuakini Medical Center. Please inquire with your department of service for parking validation options.

For visitors who are planning to make frequent visits to Kuakini Medical Center and/or Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc., monthly parking subscriptions may be obtained from the Care Management/Medical Social Work Department.
