Administrators from JABSOM, University Health Partners of Hawaii and University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, along with Hilo community leaders, gathered at a luncheon for Dr. John Uohara and Dr. Emilie Stickley on October 12. The event was held at the ‘Imiloa Sky Garden Restaurant on Hawaiʻi island to celebrate Dr. Uohara’s retirement and Dr. Stickley’s welcome to the Hilo community.
For 39 years, Dr. Uohara served the Hilo community with a private OB/GYN practice. In September, he handed off his practice to Dr. Emilie Stickley, associate professor of OB/GYN at JABSOM. She previously served in the United States Army as a field surgeon and as an OB/GYN at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu.
The luncheon was followed by an office blessing at the new UHP OB/GYN clinic, located at the Punahele Professional Building.
